The instruments are the subject of PGSE Relief Request Nos. 5 6 and 7 ISI IS and 7 for these pumps, respectively as stat d th / T Program Plan, Table 4.1.2 (Unit I - Rev. 4, Unit 2 - Rev. I, dated July 1986). ~ 'eferences: l. Provide the reference values (as defined in Section XI Paragraph IMP-3110) of pump flowrates for the above pumps. 2. Prov>de the design flowrates for the above pumps when they are operating in their safety related flow paths. 3. Prov>de the full-scale ranges of the instruments th t a you propose to use to measure the flowrates of the above pumps. 4. Provide the accuracies of the instrument th t s a you propose to use to measure the flowrates f tes of the above pumps. Clearly specify whether these accuracies are based on the instrument f 11-1 a u -sca e range or on the actual instrument readings. 5. Prov>de the basis of the instrument accuracies provided in,response to Item 4 above. If the data that these accuracies are based on empirical d ta id e ata that were used to generate the values for each of the affected pumpsi 0 6. During the telecon on March 23, 1987 PGKE indicated that the performance of the proposed flowrate instrumentation For the boric acid transfer pumps displayed an accuracy of less than 5%. Provide similar information for the other pumps listed above. 7. Provide the frequency for calibration of the instruments. Discuss the basis and the manufacturer's recommendation for calibration. 8. Discuss the repeatability of the flowrate measurements and provide the appropriate manufacturer's specifications. If the electronic or transducer portion of the instrumentation is portable, discuss the effect of this feature on the repeatability of the measurements. 9. Discuss the calibration method and describe where the calibration is performed (at the manufacturer, at the Diablo Canyon Plant, in situ or bench calibration). 10. Expand the bases for Relief Request Nos. 5, 6 and 7 for pump flowrate measurements as identified above, taking into account the additional information requested in Items 1 through 8 above. V
