License Amendment Request 93-01 Revision of Technical Specification 3/4.3.3.5 - Revise Technical Specification for Remote Shutdown Instrumentation Gentlemen:
Enclosed is an application for amendment to Facility Operating License Nos.
The enclosed license amendment request (LAR) proposes to change Technical Specification (TS) 3/4.3.3.5, "Remote Shutdown Instrumentation,"
to add remote shutdown control functions, to increase the Allowed Outage Time (AOT) for an inoperable remote shutdown function (instrumentation and control) from 7 days to 30 days, to add an Action Statement that clarifies that separate entry is permitted for each function listed in Table 3.3-9, and to revise the associated TS Basis to incorporate enhanced basis information.
Since the changes proposed in this LAR are not required to address an immediate safety concern, PG&E believes that the NRC review and approval of this LAR should be low priority.
PG&E requests that the proposed changes become effective 30 days after issuance of the license amendment.
