CLOSEOUT OF GENERIC LETTER 88-11 AND MPA A-023 FOR DIABLO CANYON POWER PLANT, UNITS 1
AND 2 (TAC NOS.
71485 AND 71486)
On July 12, 1988, the NRC staff issued Generic Letter 88-11, "NRC Position on Radiation Embrittlement of Reactor Vessel Materials and Its Impact on Plant Operations."
By letter dated July 7, 1989, Pacific Gas and Electric Company responded to Generic Letter 88-11 by proposing modifications to the Diablo Canyon technical specifications.
These modifications were approved by the NRC staff on May ll, 1990 in Amendments 54 and 53 to the Diablo Canyon Unit 1 and Unit 2 Operating Licenses, respectively.
The Safety Evaluation accompanying the amendments concluded that the proposed technical specification changes were in accordance with the recommendations of Generic Letter 88-11.
Based on this conclusion, the NRC staff considers your response to Generic Letter 88-11 to be satisfactory.
This completes our action on MPA A-023 for Diablo Canyon and closes TAC Nos.
