SAFETY EVALUATION OF PROCEDURES GENERATION PACKAGE FOR DIABLO CANYON UNITS 1
AND 2 (TAC NOS.
55337 AND 61878)
The purpose of this letter is to forward the NRC staff's safety evaluation report addressing the Procedures Generation Package (PGP) for the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2, which Pacific Gas and Electric Company submitted by letter dated July 1, 1983.
The NRC staff finds that the program described in the your submittal of July 1, 1983 needs improvement in some respects to ensure that you have the ability to develop and maintain high quality emergency operating procedures.
The staff's findings are discussed in detail in the enclosed safety evaluation (SE).
We request that you revise, as appropriate your PGP to reflect the concerns identified in the SE.
No further submittals to the NRC are required regarding this issue.
This completes the staff's review of this issue.
