This refers to the inspection
conducted
by Mr.
C.
Ramsey of this office
during July 6 through 10, 1987, of activities authorized
by NRC License
Nos.
DPR-80 and
and to the discussion
of our findings with
Mr.
R. Thornber ry, and other
members of your staff on July 10,
1987.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the enclosed
inspection report.
Mithin these
areas,
the inspection consisted of selective
examinations
of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with
personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
As discussed
in paragraphs
3.A(3) and 3.A(4) of the report,
concern
was expressed
by the inspector
regarding the availability of manpower for manual firefighting in plant vital
areas
as
a result of expanded fire brigade responsibilities
away from the
immediate plant site
and the reliability of offsite fire department
assistance.
The voluntary steps
you have taken to address
this concern will
be reviewed during future
NRC inspections.
No violations of NRC requirements
were identified within the scope of this
inspection.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790(a),
a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
