Dear Mr. Martin:
March 12, 1987 As discussed by telephone with you on March 6, 1987 by Nr. P. Morrill, of my staff, Region V of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission will perform a
requalification examination audit of your facility during May 1987.
The details of this requalification program evaluation are provided in the attached memorandum from William T. Russell, Director, Division of Human Factors Technology, NRR dated Nay 22, 1986.
5 The alternate approach to requalification evaluations defined in the Russell memorandum, require that the NRC provide review and approval of the written requalification examination developed by the fac'ility training staff.
In order to meet this requirement, please provide a copy of the Nay 26, 1987 requalification examination and answer key for review to this office by May 11, 1987.
The alternate approach to reaualification evaluations also requires parallel grading of the written examination by facility and NRC staff.
To meet this requirement, please provide an unmarl ed copy of the 11 candidates'ritten answers to the Nay 26, 1987 requalification examination and copies of the facility staff graded examinations for Region V grading and comparison after the examination.
Finally, the alternate approach to requalification evaluation requires evaluation of the operating (oral/simulator) examination.
Region Y will observe your simulator examinations during the week starting Nay 25, 1987.
Please provide your schedule for simulator examinations during this period.
