The modification's ware identified in a memoran-dum from S. Chilk to W. Dircks, da'ted March 8, 1982 (Enclosure 1).
One of the modifications related to the tech'nical scope
'o'f the program (item (c) in ), the other addressed the selection'rocess and final selection of the independent auditor (item '(b) a'n'd spe'cifi'c instruction in Enclosure 1).
The staff followed the instructions of the Commission for the selection process.
A -Daily Highlight was issued on Magph 18, 1982, regardin0. the status of the selection process (Enclosure 2):
Pursuant to the Commission direction, the staff approved Teledyne as the 'inde'pendent company to conduct the IDVP-Phase I for Diablo Canyon by letter dated March 19, 1982 (Enclosure 3).
This letter indicated that certain issues with"respect to Phase I of the program remained to be resolved.
The staff met with PG&E and Teledyne on March 25, 1982, regarding the Phase I program plan to discuss: revisionsto the plan required prior to staff approval.
Teledyne submitted a consolidate'd
'and revised plan dated April 6, 1982.
The staff determined that some addit'ional cl'arificati'ons ip the plan were required; however, it was r esponsive to th'e it'ems 'tha't 'ha'd been identified by the Commission.
Pursuant to Commission direct'ion, 'th'e staff 'ap'proved the plan and inl'ormed PG&E by letter dated April 27, 198'2'Enclosure 4)'.

This letter indicated that certain issues with respect to Phase I o the program remain to be resolved.

Teledyne submitted a consolidated and revised plan dated Apri 6, 1982.
The staff determined that some additional clarifications in the pl are required; however, it was responsive to the items that had been identifie by the Comission.
Pursuant to Coraoission direction (Enclosure 1), the staff approve the plan and informed PG&E by letter dated April 27, 1982 (Enclosure 4).
