Piping Branch Connections - Request for Additional Information As a result of the staff audit during the week of January 14, 1985 on the subject of piping systems and pipe supports we identified to you a number of requests for information, first at the conclusion of the audit and subsequently in a letter of January 31,.1985.
One of the items relates to the design of piping branch connections to which you responded in your letter of January 25, 1985.
The staff and its consultants have reviewed your response and determined that further information as identified in the enclosure is required to complete our review.
We request that you provide the information no later than March 4, 1985.

Regarding "Verification 2" in your submittal of January 25, 1985 you should verify the dimensions used for the "Weldolet" weld and provide a scale drawing.
You also should provide a verification for the area replacement in accordance with NC-3640 or paragraph 104.3 of ANSI B 31.1, 1973 Edition.

For each branch connection with the above combined characteristic provide the necessary area replacement verification in accordance with paragraph 104.3 of ANSI B 31. 1, 1973 Edition.
10 430. 104 In 'the turbine generator section discuss the extraction valve closure (10.2) times and extraction steam valve arrangements in relation to stable turbine operation after a turbine generator system trip.
(SRP 10.2, Parts II 8 III) 430. 105 In section 10.4.4.4 you have discussed tests and initial field (10.4.4) inspection and inservice testing and inspection, but not the frequency of inservice testing and inspection of the turbine bypass system.
Provide this information in the FSAR.
