SUBJECT:

REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM SCHEDULE In accordance with NRC policy and directives, Region V henceforth will be conducting periodic audits of the licensed operator requalification programs at power reactor facilities located within this region.

As presently planned, the audit will, as a minimum, consist of administering at least one oral examination and reviewing your staff's grading of recent

'acility-administered written examinations.

Frequently the audit will also include replacement of one or more sections of the facility-prepared written examination with sections prepared by the NRC operator licensing staff.

From the above, it is clear that it is mutually beneficial for our audit visits to coincide with those times when requalification examinations are being administered by your training staff.

Accordingly, in order to prepare our audit schedule to have the minimum impact on your operations, you are requested to send us your schedule for requalification training and examinations, for the period from January 1,

1984 to December 31, 1984.

Further, in order to permit timely scheduling of our resources for this period (for both audits and replacement examinations), it is requested that the requalification schedule be provided to this office no later than October 28, 1983.
