Docket Wos:
50-275 lie request that you provide us with a complete computer listing of the input and output of the subject analysis (i.e. vertical seismic analysis of the annulus structure) which were used to generate the data given in the above URS/Blume report.
The information is needed to verify the BNL results based on the 2-D model.
The information should be provided to the staff in sufficient detail of the boundary conditions to avoid any further misunderstandings.
If you have any questions regarding this request please contact tir. H. Schierling of the staff (301/492-8423).

Dear hlr. Furbush:
CU Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is performing vertical seismic a
s verification studies for the NRC staff as part of its Diablo Canyon seismic design review.
One of these studies involves a computer calculation using the 2-D model shown in the URS/Blume report, "Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant Containment Structure Dynamic Seismic Analysis for the 7.5 H088RI Earthquake,"
dated Hay 1979-o In carrying out tpis work certain questions pertaining to deta'jls of structural member connections (i.e., boundary conditions) have arisen.
The issue. has been discussed in meetings and by telephone among staff members of PG8E, the NRC and BNL.
However, conflicts and misunderstandings remain regarding the boundary condition information as verbally provided by PGSE to the NRC and BNL in October
- 1981, as described in the above report, as recently provided by phone to the NRC and BNL, and as shown in the PG8E data and drawings submitted to the staff by letter dated tlarch 15, 1982.
