50-275 and 50-323 NOTICE OF DEVIATION Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted during the period October 23-26, 1979 it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in conformance with your committments to the Commission as indicated below:
Contrary to your committment in Section 3.2 of the FSAR to the requirements of the 1968 ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III, Class C and the associated requirements of the ASHE Code Section VIII, the reinforce-ment on about 18-inches of the longitudinal weld and about 3-inches of the top head to shell weld, on the interior of the Unit 1 and 2 volume control tanks exceeded the maximum code allowable reinforcement of 1/16 inch.
These tanks were inspected and found acceptable by your contractor.
These conditions were observed by the NRC inspector on October 25, 1979.
This is a deviation.
