Dear Sir/Madam:

Duke Energy Progress, LLC (DEP) submitted a license amendment request, dated September 16, 2016, to change surveillance requirement frequencies to support a 24-month fuel cycle (Reference 1 ). During the NRC acceptance review, information was identified that is needed to allow the NRC staff to complete the review. As discussed during a telecom with NRC staff on November 4, 2016, DEP hereby requests withdrawal of the license amendment request. DEP plans to address the information request and re-submit the license amendment request during the first quarter of 2017.

This letter contains no new regulatory commitments.
