UNITED ST ATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 December 5, 2016 Mr. Bryan C. Hanson President and Chief Nuclear Officer Exelon Nuclear 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, IL 60555

SUBJECT:

LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNIT 1 -CORRECTION TO LICENSE AMENDMENT NO. 185 REGARDING APPLICATION OF AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE METHODOLOGY (CAC NO. MC2295)

Dear Mr. Hanson:

By letter dated August 23, 2006 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML062210207), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment Nos. 185 and 146 to Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-39 and NPF-85 for the Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Units 1 and 2, respectively. The amendments revised the technical specifications {TSs) to support application of an alternative source term (AST) methodology in response to the application from Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) dated February 27, 2004, as supplemented by letters dated October 25, 2004; October 10, 2005; April 27, 2006; May 30, 2006; June 16, 2006; and August 4, 2006.

Based on a recent discussion with Exelon staff, the NRC staff was informed of an error in TS Table 3.3. 7.1-1, "Radiation Monitoring Instrumentation, for LGS, Unit 1, Amendment No. 185.

Specifically, on TS page 3/4 3-64, the data shown for function 2.b, "Control Room Direct Radiation Monitor," does not correctly align with the associated columns in the table (data is incorrectly shifted to the left).

It appears that this error was introduced by the camera-ready TS page provided by Exelon just prior to issuance of the AST amendment. The data on the camera ready page was not consistent with the changes proposed for this page as shown in Attachment 4 to Exelon's letter dated August 4, 2006 (ADAMS Accession ML062540523, non-publicly available). The corrected page is enclosed.

B. Hanson If you have any questions regarding this matter, I may be reached at 301-415-1420 or Rick.Ennis@nrc.gov.

Sincerely, Richard B. Ennis, Senior Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch 1-2 Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket No. 50-352
