SUMMARY
OF SEPTEMBER 23, 2016, PUBLIC MEETING WITH TVA REGARDING HYDROLOGY-RELATED LICENSING ACTIONS, BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1, 2, AND 3, SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 AND WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1AND2 (CAC NOS. MF8391, MF8392, MF8393, MF8394, MF8395, MF8396 and MF8397)
On September 23, 2016, a public meetng was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in Knoxville, TN.
The purpose of this meeting was for TVA to walk through a recently submitted fleetwide topical report (TR) to facilitate more efficient NRC staff review. "TVA-NPG-AWA16, "TVA Overall Basin Probable Maximum Precipitation and Local Intense Precipitation Analysis, Calculation CDQ0000002016000041," Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML16264A454 was the TR submitted by TV A on September 21, 2016. If approved by the NRC staff, TVA will use it as the bases for future design base flooding analyses for all the nuclear power plants in the TV A fleet.
During the meeting, TVA summarized the TR submittal content and organization by using a set of presentation slides (see ADAMS Accession No. ML16265A317). The meeting notice and agenda, dated August 30, 2016, 2016, are available in ADAMS at Accession No. ML16265A627. A list of attendees is enclosed.
No regulatory decisions were made at the meeting. No Public Meeting Feedback forms were received.
