EXAMINER COPY INITIAL CONDITIONS:
The reactor was shut down 180 hours0.00208 days
0.05 hours
2.97619e-4 weeks
6.849e-5 months
ago for refueling.
Defueling activities have not commenced.
Inventory was at reduced level (40 inches above hot leg centerline) for maintenance, and RCS temperature at 67 degrees when a leak developed in the decay heat system requiring the decay heat pump to be stopped and the leak isolated.
An equipment problem is preventing the other decay heat train from being placed in service.
The crew is implementing the Loss of Decay Heat Abnormal procedure DB-OP-02527.
The loss of inventory from the leak (prior to isolating the leak) has resulted in the current vessel stable level of 30 inches above hot leg centerline.
Current RCS temperature is 70 degrees.
INITIATION CUE:
The Shift Manager has directed you to refer to DB-PF-06703, Miscellaneous Operation Curves, and calculate the elapsed time from current time until boiling would reduce level to the top of the core if cooling is not restored. Write your answer below.
(Provide a copy of DB-PF-06703, Miscellaneous Operation Curves)
