Dear Mr. Tucker:
SUBJECT:
CONFIRMATORY TEST PROGRAM ON MASONRY WALL DESIGN, IE BULLETIN 80-11 We have reviewed your October 5, 1984 submittal on the proposed confirmatory test program on the arching action methodology used in the qualification of certain masonry walls at Oconee. In evaluating your program, we have been assisted by our consultant, Franklin Research Center. We find your test proposal acceptable with one minor exception. You have proposed to test three prisms per panel, while we would prefer that six prisms be tested per panel because of the variability in results as observed in similar tests. We request that you inform us, in advance, of the actual dates for testing each panel to allow the Commission staff the opportunity to witness these important tests.
Sincerely,
