SUMMARY
OF MEETING WITH DUKE POWER COMPANY ON LICENSE RENEWAL ACTIVITIES FOR OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION UNITS 1, 2, AND 3 On May 15, 1997, a representative of Duke Power Company (Duke) met with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff to discuss draft sections of Duke's License Renewal Technical Information Report, OLRP-1001. Attendees at the meeting were as follow:
Duke NRC R. Gill P. Kuo P. Shemanski S. Hoffman H. Wang W. Liu Duke showed the staff partial drafts of the structural and electrical sections of OLRP-1001. The intent of the meeting was for the staff to see the proposed format and content of the sections which will address all Oconee structures and electrical components subject to aging management review. Duke is scheduled to submit a vertical slice evaluation for one structure (earthen dam) and one component (porcelain insulator) demonstrating how the complete evaluation process will be implemented. An example of a time-limited aging analysis evaluation will also be provided for each section. The vertical slice evaluations are scheduled to be submitted for staff review between May and July 1997 with the complete sections scheduled for submittal between July and September 1997.
No documents were left with the staff at the meeting.
At Duke's request, a meeting is being scheduled in June 1997 to discuss the structural and electrical vertical slice submittals.
