By letter dated October 27, 2014, (Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML14317A052), as supplemented by letters dated July 2, 2015 and September 21, 2015 (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML15183A248 and ML15265A347, respectively) Susquehanna Nuclear, LLC (Susquehanna), submitted a license amendment request for review and approval for the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES) Units 1 and 2. The proposed amendment would modify the SSES Technical Specifications (TS) by relocating specific surveillance frequencies to a licensee-controlled program with the implementation of Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 04-10, Risk-Informed Technical Specifications Initiative 5b, Risk-Informed Method for Control of Surveillance Frequencies.
The NRC staff has reviewed the information submitted by the licensee, and based on this review, determined additional information is required to complete the assessment of the license amendment request. Please find attached a DRAFT copy of the NRC staffs additional information request. These DRAFT RAIs are being sent to you to ensure that the questions are understandable, the regulatory basis for the questions are clear, and to determine if the information was previously docketed. These DRAFT RAIs are also being sent to you in support of a public meeting that is scheduled to take place between Susquehanna and the NRC staff on October 21, 2015.
