Initial Conditions: 89% Rx. Power Turnover: The plant is currently operating at 89% power following a power reduction for replacement of the #3 LPSV Unitized Actuator. B CRD Pump is out of service for pump rebuild.

Expected return to service is 4 days. Center SAC is NON-PREFERRED USE due to oil leaks on the Compressor. Plans for the crew are to shift GSW pumps to start #6 GSW and shutdown #2 GSW to repair leaks on the discharge strainer. After the pump shift, the crew is to raise power with recirc flow to 95% and hold to validate Power vs Steam Flow per GOP 22.000.03.

NOTE: The crews Pre-job Briefing for the reactor power increase is to be conducted prior to entering the simulator. (Suggested time 30 minutes prior to beginning the scenario.)

Description:

Overview Initial Conditions:

The plant is currently operating at 89% power at MOC following a power reduction for replacement of the #3 LPSV Unitized Actuator. B CRD Pump is out of service for pump rebuild. Expected return to service is 4 days. Center SAC is NON-PREFFERED USE due to oil leaks on the compressor. Plans for the crew are to shift GSW pumps to run #6 GSW and shutdown #2 GSW to repair leaks on the discharge strainer. The crew is to then raise power with flow to 92%, then raise power at 3% per hour to 95%, and then hold at 95% to validate power vs steam flow per GOP 22.000.03.

Appendix D Required Operator Actions Form ES-D-2 Scenario Termination Criteria:

  • Reactor water level, pressure and power are under control.

Critical Task Criteria:

  • SRO directs BOP to spray Drywell - With Drywell Pressure rising, initiate Drywell Sprays when within the DWSIL as directed by the CRS prior to exceeding the PSP - Failure criteria is failure to initiate Drywell Sprays when required.
  • SRO directs BOP to flood the RPV - WHEN RPV water level cannot be determined, depressurize the RPV, ignoring cooldown rate and FLOOD the RPV to the Main Steam Lines - Failure criteria is failure to inject into RPV sufficiently to maintain at least one SRV open.
