DEFINITIONS CONDITIONALLY OPERABLE:

SITUATION WHERE A SYSTEM, SUBSYSTEM, OR COMPONENT (SSC) RELIES ON CHANGES TO A DESIGN LIMIT, DESIGN BASIS, OR METHOD OF PERFORMING A DESIGN FUNCTION (SUCH AS A COMPENSATORY ACTION) IN ORDER TO BE OPERABLE. A CONDITIONALLY OPERABLE SSC MAY BE DEGRADED, BUT THE DESIGN FUNCTION CAN STILL BE PERFORMED.

COMPENSATORY ACTION: TEMPORARY ACTION PLANNED AND IMPLEMENTED TO REPLACE AN AUTOMATIC FUNCTION OR MODIFY THE NORMAL CONFIGURATION OF AN SSC.
