VITAL AREA ANALYSIS - OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION As a result of major modifications in and redirection of the NRC's Vital Area Analysis (VAA) programs, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) VAA personnel under NRC contract must revisit several power reactors sites which were analyzed during the early stages of the VAA effort. Your Oconee Nuclear Station is one of the sites requiring reanalyses.
The purpose of this revisit will be to gather additional information to permit greater licensee flexibility in identifying plant vital areas. A representative of LANL will be contacting the plant in the near future to arrange a mutually agreeable date for the visit.
Safeguards Information gathered during this reanalysis will be protected in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 73.21.
