Dear Mr. Tucker:
The staff and its consultants have completed the review of the mechanical response of the primary coolant system subjected to asymmetric loss-of coolant accident loads for Oconee Nuclear Station, Unit Nos. 1, 2 and 3 which was submitted by report dated July, 1980 and revised by report dated June, 1981.
The results of our review are contained in the en closed Safety Evaluation.
The review included ain evaluation of plant cavity pressure, sabeooled blowdown and structural analyses. The staff has concluded that your assessment of the asymmetric loads problem is acceptable, and a re sonable assurancd has, been demonstrated that the reactor can be brought safely to a cold shutdown condition.
