We. have received a copy of your application dated November 16, 1979, which you filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (ONRR) for review.
The applicaton requested changes.for the Oconee Nuclear Station Technical Specifications to support operation of Oconee Unit No. 2 at full rated power during Cycle 5, and was accompanied by a Class III amendment fee of
$4,000 for Oconee Unit No. 2 (License No. DPR-47), and duplicate amendment fees of $400 each for Oconee Unit Nos. 1 and 3 (License Nos. DPR-38 and -55).
Based on guidance from the ONRR staff as a result of a preliminary review of your application, it has been determined that the proposed reload for Unit No. 2 involves consideration of a complex issue and, therefore, requires a Class IV amendment fee of $12,300. The ONRR staff has advised us that the duplicate amendments are not necessary in this case because the requested changes do not affect Unit Nos. I and 3. However, because the Technical Specifications are common to all unitsoand ONRR maintains separate Technical Specifications for each Oconee unit, all licenses for the Oconee Station are generally amended when changes are required for any one of the units.
In consideration of the above, it is requested that a sum of $7,500 be forwarded to this office promptly._ If the final review of your application by the ONRR staff reveals that this fee is incorrect, your Company will be refunded any overpayment or be asked to.pay any additional amount due.
