NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-269/97-14, 50-270/97-14, AND
50-287/97-14
Dear Mr. McCollum:
Thank you for your response of December 17, 1997, to our Notice of Violation
issued on November 17, 1997, concerning activities conducted at your Oconee
facility. We have evaluated your response and found that it meets the
requirements of 10 CFR 2.201 for violations 97-14-02, 03, 06, 07, 08, 09, and
10. We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions for these
violations during future inspections.

With respect to violation 97-14-04, your response addressed the failure to
implement a vendor recommendation for DB-25 circuit breakers as a procedural
oversight, but didn't address the actions taken or planned to assure this is
an isolated problem. Based on a telephone conversation on January 7, 1998,
between Mr. P. Fredrickson of the NRC and Mr. J. Burchfield of your staff, we
understand that you will address this concern in a revised response to
violation 97-14-04, which will be provided to this office by January 21, 1998.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
