Dear Commissioners and Staff:

Reference 1 requested the Commission to grant Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) the authority to possess and use certain firearms, ammunition, and other devices, such as large capacity ammunition feeding devices, notwithstanding local, state, and certain federal firearms laws that may prohibit such possession and use.

These firearms, ammunition, and other devices are necessary to implement the NRC-approved Security Plan for Diablo Canyon Power Plant and Diablo Canyon Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation.

On March 23, 2015, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission forwarded a draft Confirmatory Order (Reference 2) in response to the license amendment request from PG&E (Reference 1).

PG&E consents to the issuance of the Confirmatory Order EA-14-134 that will be effective 20 days after the date of issuance. In consenting to the Confirmatory Order EA-14-134, PG&E agrees to waive the right to request a hearing on all or any part of the Confirmatory Order. The Enclosure of this letter contains a signed consent and hearing waiver form.
