Letter from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to the Tennessee Valley Authority Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant Notification of Licensed Operator Initial Examination 05000259/2015301, 05000260/2015301, and 05000296/2015301, dated August 5,2014 In accordance with the referenced letter and NUREG-1 021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, the Tennessee Valley Authority is providing the written test, and supporting reference materials for the upcoming license examination.

The Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BEN) Units 1, 2, and 3 Initial Operator Licensing Written Examination is scheduled for the week of January 26, 2015. In order to meet the examination schedule, NRC requested that BEN furnish this examination material by September 29, 2014.

Enclosed is the written test, including the supporting reference materials, for the Reactor Operators and Senior Reactor Operators examinations.

McCree Page 2 September 26, 2014 In accordance with Title 10 of the Federal Code of Regulations (10 CFR) 55.49, and NUREG-1 021, appropriate measures have been taken to ensure examination integrity and security. Accordingly, it is requested that this letter and the enclosed documents will be withheld from public disclosure for the period of 2 (two) years.

Letter from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to the Tennessee Valley Authority dated August 5, 2014, Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant Notification of Licensed Operator Initial Examination 05000259/2015301, 05000260/2015301, and 05000296/201 5301 In accordance with the above referenced NRC letter dated August 5, 2014, the Tennessee Valley Authority is providing all appropriate examination standard forms and outlines in accordance with NUREG-1 021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, Revision 9, Supplement 1, for the upcoming Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant Units 1, 2, and 3 Initial Operator License Examination.

Enclosed are the examination outlines, supporting the Initial License Operator Examination scheduled for the weeks of January 19 and January 26, 2015. These examination outlines were requested to be submitted by October 20, 2014, in the above referenced NRC letter.

In accordance with NUREG-1 021, Revision 9, Supplement 1, Section ES-201, Initial Operator Licensing Examination Process, please ensure that these materials are withheld from public disclosure until after the examinations are administered.

Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator Initial License Written Examinations Post Examination Response The Tennessee Valley Authority (WA) administered the final NRC Written Examination for the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator Initial License Training (ILT) on January 28, 2015. The supporting documentation specified by Section ES-501 of NUREG 1021, Revision 9, Supplement 1, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, for Initial Post-Examination Activities is enclosed. The enclosures content listing is provided at the end of this letter.

Analysis of the preliminary facility graded examination results indicated five questions; numbers 19, 40, 46, 51, and 87 had a 50 percent or greater failure rate. The results of this analysis, where applicable, will be forwarded to the ILT Supervisor for potential inclusion in the appropriate training material.

The enclosures to this letter are considered by TVA to be of a personal nature and, as such, are requested to be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(a)(6).
