Mr. Fadi Diya Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer Union Electric Company P.O. Box 620 Fulton, MO 65251 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 October 28, 2014

SUBJECT:

CALLAWAY PLANT, UNIT 1 -CORRECTION TO LICENSE AMENDMENT NO. 202 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION PAGE 3.4-41 (TAC NO. ME4506)

Dear Mr. Diya:

By letter dated July 29, 2011, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued License Amendment No. 202, Adoption of Technical Specification Task Force (TSTF)-425, Revision 3, "Relocate Surveillance Frequencies To Licensee Control-RITSTF Initiative 5b" (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML111661877), for Callaway Plant, Unit 1. The amendment consisted of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to Union Electric Company's (dba AmerenUE; the licensee) application dated August 5, 2010, as supplemented by letters dated March 23, May 3, and July 25, 2011 (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML102250056, ML110830010, ML111240412, and ML112061672, respectively).

During its review of the TSs as part of your license renewal application, the NRC staff found an error on TS page 3.4-41. In Surveillance Requirement 3.4.16.1, the value of DOSE EQUIVALENT XE-133 specific activity should be s 225 iJCi/gm (microCuries per gram) instead of s 225 mCilgm (milliCuries per gram). The correct value was in the marked up TS pages provided with the application dated August 5, 2010, but was incorrect in the clean TS pages provided prior to the issuance of the amendment.

Please find enclosed the replacement TS page 3.4-41 for Amendment No. 202. This correction does not change any of the NRC staff's conclusions in the safety evaluation associated with the amendment.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 301-415-2296 or via e-mail at fred.lyon@nrc.gov.
