SUBJECT:
Revised LOCA Analysis for H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant Unit No. 2 Exxon Nuclear Company notified the NRC, Region V, of an error in the LOCA/ECCS analyses for D. C. Cook Unit 1 and H. B. Robinson Unit 2 by letter dated September 30, 1985. The error was an input to the TOODEE2 code which resulted in an underprediction of the peak cladding temperature for a LOCA.
Revised LOCA/ECCS analyses were provided to the NRC for H. B. Robinson Unit 2 with the TOODEE2 input error corrected by letter dated October 8, 1985. As a result of these analyses, revised Fq values, and a revised K(z) curve, was developed for H. B. Robinson Unit 2.
We have completed our review of your analyses and have concluded that operation of H. B. Robinson Unit 2 within the revised values of Fq and the K(z) curve satisfies the criteria of 10 CFR 50.46.
A copy of our Safety Evaluation is enclosed.
