Attorney, OELD Enclosed is our interim safety evaluation of the auxiliary feedwater (AFW) system reliability for H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant Ujnit No. 2. We have reviewed your submittals dated Otober 31 and December 31, 1979, and April 29, May 15, and June 12, 1980.

In order for us to complete our review, we-need the following:

1. Technical Specifications for plant operation with inoperable AFW pumps in accordance with current Standard Technical Specifications.
2. A commitment to meet the required date of January 1, 1982, for implementing long term AFW system modifica tions related to the condensate storage tank level indicators and alarms.
3. A commitment to provide for automatic initiation of AFW system flow under station blickout conditions and to prove system control capability independent of AC power for at least two hours.
4. A commitment to provide positive means of missile protection for any of the AFW water sources.

The enclosure provides the details of our review and the information we need.

Please respond within 30 days of receipt of this letter.

Enclosed is our interim safety evaluation of the auxiliary feedwater (AFJ system reliability for H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant Unit No. 2. We have reviewed your submittals dated October 31 and December 31, 1979, and April 29, May 15, and June 12, 1980.

In order for us to complete our review, we need the following:
