We have completed our review of your submittal dated November 7, 1983 in response to our Generic Letter (GL) 83-28, Item 4.5. Our completed review is only for Item 4.5.2, Reactor Trip System Reliability.
Our enclosed SEP documents our concurrence with our contractor's (EE&G Idaho, Inc.) finding that Carolina Power & Light Company's response to GL 83-28, Item 4.5.2, is acceptable. Therefore, we consider this item closed. TAC No.
54020, however, is not closed since it includes Item 4.5.3 of GL 83-28. Item 4.5.3 will be reviewed separately.
Enclosed is a copy of our Safety Evaluation and our contractor's Technical Evaluation Report for your information.
