TMI Action Plan Item II.K.3.3, Reporting Relief Valve and Safety Valve Failures and Challenges We have reviewed the status of implementation of the above TMI Action Item for H. B. Robinson, Unit No. 2. This action item requires that you comhit to making prompt reports on all PORV and safety 1-ve failures at Unit 2 and document all challenges.
During telephone communications you stated that you document all challenges in your annual report, however we have no record that you made a commitment to making prompt reports on all PORV and safety valve failures and document all challenges.
In order to close out this issue for both units it is requested that you provide the following documentation:
a) A report documenting relief valve and safety valve failures and challenges for the period April 1, 1980 to present.
b) A commitment to (1) promptly report to the NRC any future failures of relief valves or safety valves at Unit 1 and (2) periodically report to the NRC all challenges in the future of relief valves or safety valves.
It is planned that tfese reporting requirements will be formalized administratively in your Technical Specifications. We will contact you in the future regarding this.
This request for information was approved by the Office of Management and Budget under clearance number 3150-0065 which expires May 31, 1983.
