REVIEW OF THE QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM CHANGES TO THE UPDATED FINAL SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3)(iv) FOR H. B. ROBINSON STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNIT NO. 2, BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2, AND SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT 1 (TAC NOS. M84312, M84259,-M84260, M84325)
This is to acknowledge receipt of your letters for the above referenced dockets, dated August 6, 1992, requesting a review of proposed changes to the Quality Assurance (QA) Programs, as detailed in the referenced Final Safety Analysis Reports (FSAR) for the applicable units.
On October 5, 1992, a telephone conversation was held with members of your staff to inform you that the NRC staff is continuing its review of these documents. As our review is ongoing, the proposed changes are not considered acceptable at this time.
Therefore, we request that you delay implementation until our review is completed. Upon completion of the review process, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3)(iv), the staff shall document its findings concerning the proposed changes.
