NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-261/98-05
Dear Mr. Young:
On May 9, 1998, the NRC completed an inspection at your H. B. Robinson reactor
facility. You were informed of the inspection findings in an exit interview
conducted on May 19, 1998. The enclosed report presents the results of that
inspection.
During the six-weeks covered by this inspection period, your conduct of
activities at the H. B. Robinson facility was generally characterized by
safety-conscious operations, sound engineering and maintenance practices, and
careful radiological work controls. However, one cited violation resulting
from the failure to perform a required containment system leakrate measurement
was identified.
The violation.is cited in the enclosed Notice of Violation (Notice), and the
circumstances surrounding the violation are described in detail in the
enclosed report. Please note that you are required to respond to this letter
and should follow the instructions specified in the enclosed Notice when
preparing your response. The NRC will use your response, in part, to
determine whether further enforcement action is necessary to ensure compliance
with regulatory requirements.
