REPLY TO A NOTICE OF VIOLATION AND NRC INSPECTION
REPORT 05000458/2013007
Dear Mr. Olson:
This letter acknowledges your February 3, 2014, correspondence in response to our letter,
dated January 2, 2014. On January 2, 2014, the NRC cited River Bend Stations failure to
complete corrective actions associated with multiple spurious operations concerns in a timely
manner. This violation was documented as Violation VIO 05000458/2013007-01, Failure to
Resolve Noncompliances Associated with Multiple Spurious Operations in a Timely Manner.
The Notice of Violation enclosed with Inspection Report 05000458/2013007 (ML14002A437)
required you to respond in writing within 30 days. On February 5, 2014, the NRC received a
letter from
Mr. J. Clark, Licensing Manager, contesting this violation and requesting the NRC to re-
characterize the cited violation.
The NRC is currently reviewing your basis for contesting the violation in accordance with Part I,
Section 2.3.7 of the Enforcement Manual. Accordingly, we will provide the results of our
evaluation by written response within 90 days of the receipt of your letter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding,
of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public
inspection in the NRCs Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS)
component of the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).
