ME9004 and ME9005)
Dear Mr. Pierce:
Enclosed is a copy of the Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact related to your license amendment request letters, dated July 5 and October 10, 2012. The proposed action would amend the Technical Specifications in Appendix A of HNP's Renewed Facility Operating Licenses by revising the minimum water level for the plant service water system and ultimate heat sink from 60.7 feet (ft) to 60.5 ft mean sea level.
The license amendment would allow the licensee to avoid the potential for plant shutdown due to low river levels by demonstrating that sufficient water levels exist at the revised level to operate the plant safely.
The assessment is being forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
