Dear Mr. Drake:
This refers to your submittal dated November 4, 1977, concerning the degraded grid voltage generic issue as it applies to San Onofre, Unit 1.
From our review of your submittal we have concluded that your claim that the grid voltage at your facility does not degrade below 90% of normal voltage as a basis for not proposing any modifications to your undervoltage protection scheme, is not acceptable. Accordingly, we again request that you propose design modifications and changes to the Technical Specifications based on the guidance in the staff positions in our letter dated June 3, 1977.
Your response is requested within 45 days from the date of this letter.
