SCE to NRC letter dated October 31, 1989; Status of Miscellaneous Outstanding Licensing Issues This letter is to inform you that the response to your September 12, 1989 request will be submitted by March 16, 1990 in lieu of December 15, 1989 as stated in the referenced letter. Amendment Application No. 162 addresses an open SEP topic which required that technical specifications on the Containment Spray Actuation System (CSAS) instrumentation be provided. A supplemental amendment is required to respond to additional information requested by your September 12, 1989 letter.
To provide a supplemental amendment, a detailed calculation regarding the setpoint for containment pressure instrumentation was required. Completion of this calculation was unexpectedly delayed due to a reallocation of manpower in support of the recent short duration outage. As a result of the setpoint calculation, additional independently reviewed and verified engineering analyses are necessary to provide a complete and thorough basis for our response. Following completion of the engineering analysis, we will prepare a supplement to Amendment Application No. 152 by March 16, 1990.
