INTERIM ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA FOR THE THERMAL SHIELD MONITORING PROGRAM SAN ONOFRE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNIT NO. 1 (TAC NO. 74585)
We have reviewed your submittal dated September 6, 1989, relating to the above stated subject matter, and we find your interim acceptance criteria for the thermal shield monitoring program to be acceptable. The staff's safety evaluation is enclosed for your information.
As stated in paragraphs 2.1 and 2.2 of the enclosure, certain improvements should be made to your interim surveillance criteria when developing the final criteria. Please include these improvements in your submittal discussing the final surveillance criteria. We will verify completion of this action during review of your next submittal on this subject, and a specific response to this letter is not required.
Please contact us if you should have any questions regarding this matter.
