OCT 1 1985 Docket No. 50-206 Mr. Kenneth P. Baskin, Vice President Nuclear Engineering Safety and Licensing Department Southern California Edison Company 2244 Walnut Grove Avenue Post Office Box 800 Rosemead, California 91770

Dear Mr. Baskin:

This letter expresses my appreciation for the time and effort expended by the Southern California Edison Staff, especially Mike Thomas, for coordinating the September 24, 1985 site visit by members of my staff. My staff has indicated to me that both the tour of Unit 1 conducted by Howard Bentz and the tour of Units 2 and 3 conducted by Karl Weigand were exceptional.

I would also like to thank Phillip Dooley for coordinating a tour of the Emergency Operations Facility on September 25, 1985.

Please convey these thoughts to your staff on my behalf.

Sincerely, John A.
