Docket No. 50-206 Amendment Application No. 178 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 Our Amendment Application No. 178, submitted to you on June 11, 1990, revises Technical Specifications 3.0 and 4.0 in accordance with Generic Letter 87-09 with certain identified exceptions. As a result of a comment by J. E. Tatum, NRC Project Manager, we reviewed the amendment relative to one of the exceptions. From this review, it has been determined that the Basis to Technical Specification 3.0.4 as it was submitted requires further revision.
It is necessary to delete the second sentence in the Basis for 3.0.4.
Removing this sentence more accurately incorporates the exceptions to GL 87-09 we identified in Amendment Application No. 178. Please use the enclosed Technical Specification page 3.0-4 which reflects this change in your review of Amendment Application No. 178.
