Docket No. 50-206 Amendment No. 99 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 Enclosed are three executed and thirty-seven conformed copies of Amendment No. 99 in Docket No. 50-206. Amendment No. 99 proposes the addition of a new License Condition 3.1, "SIS Surveillance Program."
Proposed License Condition 3.1 imposes a requirement for periodic surveillance of the Safety Injection System (SIS). This,Proposed License Condition was required by the NRC to be submitted as part of the corrective actions necessary for return to power from the present.outage and is a result of the SIS actuation event with failure to open of the two feedwater pump SIS discharge valves.
Accordingly, it is respectfully requested that the NRC promptly review and take appropriate action on the enclosed amendment application prior to resumption of power operation which is scheduled to commence during the weekend of October 24, 1981.
Also enclosed is Southern California Edison Company's check No. A-874554 dated October 20, 1981, in the amount of $4,000.00 as required by 10 CFR 170.22.
