SAN ONOFRE - SEP TOPIC V-TO.A, RESIDUAL HEAT REMOVAL HEAT EXCHANGER TUBE FAILURES By letter dated January 5, 1979, we forwarded to you our draft evaluation of Topic V-10.A. We requested that you examine the facts upon which our evaluation was based and respond by either confirming that the facts were correct or by identifying any errors.
Your response dated March 5, 1979, provided a comment regarding the staff's consideration of requiring a radiation monitor on the discharge of the salt water cooling system as it leaves the plant.
As noted in our January 5, 1979 evaluation, the final decision regarding a radiation monitor will be made at the completion of the integrated assessment. Since you made no comments regarding the factual correctness of the evaluation, we assume that the evaluation is correct and is considered to be final.
