Letter, J. E. Tatum, NRC, to Harold B. Ray, SCE, "Intake Structure Degradation," dated August 13, 1990.
We met with members of the NRC staff during the week of July 9, 1990, to discuss the degradation of the SONGS 1 intake structure. Subsequent to that meeting you requested additional information on the intake structure in the above reference. The supplemental input was identified as being necessary for the NRC to complete its review of the adequacy of the intake structure.
We are in the final stages of assembling the requested input. However, because of other high priority items that must be completed to support restart of SONGS 1, we will not be able to provide the additional information within the 120 day period specified in your letter (i.e., December 15, 1990).
Therefore, as discussed with Mr. J. E. Tatum, we will respond to the NRC's questions regarding the intake structure by January 15, 1991.
