Quality Assurance Program Description For San Onofre Units 1, 2 and 3 Thank you for the additional information we requested in our letter of June 26, 1990, regarding Change Notice 37 to Topical Report SCE-1-A, "Quality Assurance Program," Amendment 12.
Your response of July 26, 1990, provided acceptable justification to support deleting the in-line review of QA requirements of drawings and specifications by the Nuclear Oversight Division.
Also, your response included a commitment to reinstate the in-line reviews or take other appropriate corrective actions if unacceptable quality levels are indicated. As commited, these provisions were incorporated into Amendment 13 of Topical Report SCE-1-A submitted on July 30, 1990.
Our review of Change Notice 37, as amended by your letter of June 26, 1990, reveals that Amendment 13 will continue to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix B; therefore the changes are acceptable. If there are any changes to other operative QA commitments existing in docketed correspondence outside of the SAR QA program description, you are obligated to notify this office.
Implementing such changes should be based on 10 CFR 50.54 (a)(3).
