REQUEST FOR INFORMATION SAN ONOFRE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNIT 1 DEGRADED GRID PROTECTION
- 1. Detailed information on the design and operation of the degraded grid undervoltage protection system.
- 2. Drawings that show relay location and logic.
- 3. Detailed information addressing the interaction of the proposed design changes with the existing loss-of-voltage scheme and the effects.of an SI signal on this system.
- 4. Draft Technical Specifications which provide the relay setpoints and tolerances (voltage and time delay), surveillance requirements and limiting conditions of operation.
- 5. Discussion on time restraints and operator actions required to restore power to the Class 1E buses.
- 6.
Verification that the proposed design modifications meet the require ments of IEEE-279-1971.
- 7.
Detailed design information and technical specifications to cover load shedding, load sequencing and the bypassing of load shedding while the emergency diesel generators are supplying onsite power. Addition ally, discuss how your design will reinstate the load shedding and sequencing features if the diesel generator breaker should trip.
