Docket Nos. 50-206, 50-361, and 50-362 Southern California Edison Company P. 0. Box 128 San Clemente, CA 92674-0128 Attention:
Mr. William G. Zintl, Manager Site Emergency Preparedness
SUBJECT:
1992 ANNUAL EMERGENCY PLAN EXERCISE SCENARIO This letter refers to your August 20, 1992, letter which enclosed the scenario and data for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station annual emergency plan exercise scheduled for October 20-21, 1992.
We have completed our review of the exercise scenario and data. The results of our review were discussed during a September 17, 1992, telephone conversation between Ms. G. Good, of my staff, and Messrs. C. Anderson and K.
de Lancey, of your staff. I understand that as a result of some of Ms. Good's comments, Mr. Anderson committed to modify certain portions of the scenario package, including one objective, two simulations, and several cue cards. I also understand that Ms. Good informed Mr. Anderson that the modifications could be incorporated into the copies provided to the NRC evaluators (the week of the exercise).
We contacted the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Region IX, during our review. Mr. R. Etchevarria had no comments for us to relay to you.
Based on the results of our review, and the actions planned by your staff, we find that the exercise scenario appears adequate to meet your emergency plan goals and requirements.
Sincerely, Robert J. Pate, Chief Safeguards, Emergency Preparedness, and Non-Power Reactor Branch cc:
