Southern Caifornia Edison Company 23 PARKER STREET IRVINE, CALIFORNIA 92718 R.M.ROSENBLUM August 20, 1992 TELEPHONE MANAGER OF (714) 454-4505 NUCLEAR REGULATORY AFFAIRS U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555 Gentlemen:
Subject:
Docket No. 50-206 TAC List Status--Supplement for Mid-Cycle Fuel Shuffle Items San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), Unit 1
Reference:
Letter dated July 8, 1992, "TAC List Status," R. M. Rosenblum (SCE) to NRC Document Control Desk On August 11, 1992 the California Public Utilities Commission unanimously approved the permanent shutdown of SONGS 1. Consistent with our previous discussions it is our plan to permanently cease operation of SONGS 1 at the end of the current fuel cycle, which we forecast to be in approximately mid November 1992.
The referenced letter transmitted the status of open items from the March 10, 1992 NRC TAC list for SONGS 1. We are requesting that the items listed in of that letter, "Items Required For a Mid-Cycle Fuel Shuffle," be closed, since there will not be a mid-cycle fuel shuffle.
This update was requested during our July 21, 1992 meeting with the NRC held in our offices.
