Docket Nos. 50-206, 50-361 and 50-362 Safeguards Contingency Plan San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 1, 2 and 3 By letter dated March 23, 1979, we submitted our Safeguards Contingency Plan for San Onofre Units 1, 2 and 3.
The Plan was submitted in accordance with the criteria set forth in Appendix C to 10 CFR Part 73.
Your letter dated December 11, 1979 requested additional information in order to complete your review of the subject Plan.
Our letter dated January 15, 1980 indicated that we expected to submit the requested information by February 25, 1980.
However, since it is necessary to (1) prepare a technical specification change, and (2) incorporate recent changes in station staff administrative duties to fully respond to your December 11, 1979 letter, the submittal of the requested information has been rescheduled for April 1, 1980.
This revised submittal date will provide suffi cient time to prepare a Proposed Change to the Technical Specifications to reflect our commitment to audit the Safe guards Contingency Plan every twelve months as required by your December 11, 1979 letter.
In addition, the Safeguards Contingency Plan will be revised to reflect changes in the administrative duties of the Watch Engineer, who is assigned responsibility for implementing portions of the Safeguards Contingency Plan.
The: administrative duties of the Watch Engineer were recently revised in accordance with NRC TMI requirements to limit these duties (NUREG-0578 Section OO 2.2.1.a).
