The staff of the Division of Licensing (DL) have completed their reviews for the following applications for Technical Specification changes for Unit Nos.
2 and 3 of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station:
- 1. November 19, 1982 request relating to shutdown cooling trains for Unit No. 3 which was approved by Amendment No. I on January 14, 1983. A Class II fee of $1,200 was remitted with your resubmittal of this request on December 9 as NPF-15-2.
- 2. December 3, 1982 request relating to turbine overspeed protection for Unit No. 2 which was approved by Amendment No. 11 on Decem ber 7, 1982. This request was resubmitted as NPF-10-55 with an application for other changes dated January 6, 1983. No fee was remitted with your December 3 application; it is considered a separate application from that filed on January 6, 1983 for which a Class II fee was paid.
- 3. December 20, 1982 request (as supplemented by letters dated Decem ber 21 and 22) relating to component cooling water loop for Unit No. 2 which was approved by Amendment No. 12 on December 23, 1982.
This request was resubmitted as NPF-10-60 with your application for other changes dated.January 6, 1983. No fee was remitted with your December 20 application.
- 4. January 7, 1983 request relating to component cooling water loop for Unit No. 3 which was approved by Amendment 1 on January 14.
This request was resubmitted as NPF-15-60 with an application for other changes dated January 25, 1983, for which a Class II fee was paid. No fee was remitted with your January 7 application.

JUN 0 J 6 1J983 Based on information provided to us as a result of the DL staff's final reviews for the above four applications, it has been determined that items 1,2 and 3 each involved consideration of a separate safety issue. Therefore, each requires a Class III fee of $4,000. Item 4 was determined to be administrative in nature and thus requires a Class II fee of $1,200. Since a total of $13,200 is applica ble for items 1 through 4 above and you have paid $1,200, a sum of $12,000 is due the NRC. It is requested that your Company remit this amount to our office.
