FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTCN 20426 IN REPLY REFER TO:
January 23, 1981 Mr. Frank J. Miraqlia Acting Chief, Licesning Branch No. 3 Division of Licensing U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C.
20555
Dear Mr. Miraglia:
I am replying to your request of January 16, 1981. to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for comments on the Supple ment to the Draft Environmental Impact Statement related to the operation of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3.
This Draft EIS has been reviewed by approprini'LERC staff components upon whose evaluation this response is based.
This staff concentrates its review of other agencies' en vironmental impact statements basically on those areas of the electric power, natural gas, and oil pipeline industries for which the Commission has jurisdiction by law, or whore sLaff has special expertise in evaluating environmental impacts in voled with the proposed action.
it does not appear that there would be any significant impacts in these areas of concern nor serious conflicts with this agency's responsibilities should this action be undertaken.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this statemenL.
Sincerely, ac M. Heinemann dvisor on Environmental Quality
